CATHY MIYATA | PROFILE

In 1987, Cathy left her teaching position to open an artistic/educational consulting business called Creative Expressions.

Through her entrepreneurship she has and is:

  • An instructor in Literacy and Children’s Literature at Brock University
  • An award wining author, published in thirteen languages
  • Performed and lectured in Serbia, Malaysia, Japan, the United States, Mexico, Greece, Sweden, Germany, Portugal and across Canada.
  • Worked with T.V. Ontario, CBC Radio and the National Film Board of Canada.
  • Hosted, directed and co-written a video for the Ontario Ministry of Education on literacy
  • Guest lectured at numerous Canadian universities and colleges
  • Performed in over 1500 schools worldwide
  • Produced and hosted a six year award-winning cable TV program called Story Magic
  • Conducted workshops, facilitated seminars and taught courses for business executives and church groups on The Art of Storytelling, Effective Communication, Creativity and Personal Growth.
  • Served internationally as a Manager and mentor artist for the Royal Conservatory of Music's acclaimed educational transformation program - Learning Through the Arts.
  • Written five books and numerous articles worldwide
